Kon let Hayley pull back and create a gap between them and grinned as his head was smacked, ducking it with the hit. Even though Hayley could be so complex at times, it was always amazing and refreshing how quick and easy things could just flow. How one moment there cold be tension and irritation and then jokes and sarcasm and teasing. It was never predictable and that's what made their friendship so exciting.

He kept a hand on her shoulder and cocked his head to the right just a little as he kept the grin on his face.

"Just thinking on how much food that could have been."

The grin faded slowly and he gripped her shoulder lightly.

"I'm sorry. I guess I'm just bad at sticking around."
